University of Houston - GCSW - Professional Internship (non-classroom)

PURPOSE

Professional internship is the culminating practice where pre-service educators demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and dispositions related to educating students.  Clear Creek ISD partners with university educator preparation programs and alternative certification program participants to provide for the completion of a capstone experience required by the State of Texas. 

Some examples of the types of student teaching and related educational service opportunities in CCISD include:

• Related Educational Service Internships

  • Nursing Clinical   

  • OT/PT/SLP

  • Nutrition/Dietetics

  • Librarian

  • Diagnostician

  • Music Therapy

  • Counseling

  • Principal/Administration

  • Psychology

  • Deaf Education

To Apply for Internship Practicums

• Complete the application through your University or ACP program so they may contact the CCISD coordinator
• Visit the CCISD website and complete a Clinical Teacher or Professional Internship application
• Submit application electronically
• Complete and clear fingerprinting process
• Complete all University or ACP Preparation program requirements
