The Texas Tech University Postgraduate Intercollegiate Athletics Internship is intended to provide on-the-job learning experiences for college graduates interested in pursuing a career in various areas of intercollegiate athletics. This program can last 12-36 months.

Future leaders will gain experience in using principles such as:

- Applying a standard of ethics to policy and administrative context
- Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of current operations within area of assignment
- Communicating relevant information and ideas
- Managing university resources to achieve organizational goals
  • Manages administrative and operational workflows for assigned executive Athletics staff, including scheduling, meeting preparation, and tracking of deliverables and strategic priorities.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders requiring executive-level coordination, acting with authority and discretion on behalf of assigned leadership.
  • Coordinates logistics for internal and external meetings, events, and departmental initiatives, ensuring smooth execution and timely follow-up.
  • Leads procurement, purchasing, and budget tracking processes for assigned areas, ensuring compliance with University, state, and NCAA policies.
  • Utilizes platforms such as Teamworks, Real Response, and institutional systems (e.g., TechBuy, Chrome River) to facilitate streamlined communication and operations.
  • Supervises and trains student assistants to support daily functions and executive staff priorities, creating opportunities for student development and office efficiency.
  • Manages core Athletics facilities and administrative spaces, including the second-floor lobby, main mailroom, executive conference rooms, break rooms, and shared common areas.
  • Oversees and supports administrative processes for assigned units, including contract routing, documentation retention, and compliance review.
  • Prepares reports, presentations, and materials for internal leadership, University administration, and external audiences.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of University policies and NCAA regulations to ensure accurate execution of administrative processes.
  • Supports and leads special projects and department-wide initiatives as assigned by executive leadership.
  • Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.
Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and previous experience with collegiate or professional athletics.
