This is an entry-level position that offers on-the-job training and provides a pathway to a career as a Building Engineer. As an Apprentice Building Engineer, you will work under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief, and Lead Engineer to learn general preventive maintenance and corrective repair for buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds. The goal is to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to complete work orders with minimal supervision in areas such as building equipment maintenance, grounds maintenance, painting, caulking, HVAC, plumbing, drywall, electrical work, and other maintenance tasks as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include, but not limited to plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, Fans, Coils, and HVAC.
- Assist in performing general maintenance, preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.
- Basic repair of doors, ceilings, hand railings, drywall, and floors, building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
- Assist in maintenance duties, including changing filters, oiling motors, replacing light fixtures, inspecting/adjusting belts, replacing bearings, aligning shafts and annual inspections as directed by manufacturers.
- Learn to inspect and understand the reasoning behind the inspection of building systems including fire alarm, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and on the grounds.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and practice safe work habits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
