The candidate should be interested in understanding how this cellular and molecular heterogeneity develops and impacts on tumor formation, metastatic progression, and therapy. Dr. Kong's laboratory combines fundamental developmental biology tools, such as lineage tracing in genetically engineered mouse models, with bioinformatic approaches, CRISPR screening tools, bioengineered systems, and clinical specimens to study the functional consequences of tumor heterogeneity in pancreatic cancer.
The visiting senior researcher will conduct research on the molecular genetics and immunology of a newly discovered genetic disorder. His work will involve a multidisciplinary approach encompassing molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, and immunology. He is expected to analyze whole-exome sequencing data, immunostaining results, confocal microscopy images, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data, and proteomics datasets.
