Who You'll Work With 

At Design Group, you'll collaborate with experienced leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to solve complex challenges for some of the world's leading companies. You'll join a growing team of more than 1,500 professionals across 45 U.S. offices where you'll be empowered to make an impact, develop your expertise, and grow your career. 

What You'll Do 

In this role, you'll support preconstruction activities for design-build capital projects within Design Group's Construction Practice. You'll work under the supervision of a preconstruction manager, construction project manager, or site superintendent while assisting with estimating, planning, procurement, and project coordination. This position plays an important role in helping project teams establish clear scopes, schedules, pricing, and delivery plans before construction begins. You'll gain experience across industrial markets while building the technical and business foundation for continued growth in construction project delivery. 

  • Support less complex estimating, planning, and buyout activities for design-build projects 

  • Assist with developing project schedules, phasing plans, bid lists, scope packages, and price evaluations 

  • Prequalify vendors and subcontractors using established requirements and processes 

  • Process requests for information, bulletins, submittals, and other preconstruction documentation 

  • Follow established preconstruction quality control procedures and documentation requirements 

  • Coordinate with design teams, construction teams, subcontractors, consultants, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers 

  • Assist with collecting and maintaining current project cost data 

  • Develop knowledge of industrial construction across manufacturing, distribution, cold storage, advanced technology, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and food processing facilities 

  • Participate in post-project reviews and document lessons learned for future planning and estimating efforts 

  • Travel periodically for project meetings, site visits, training, and client engagements as  

What You'll Bring 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field 

  • Construction-related experience gained through an internship, co-op, academic project, or professional role 

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation 

  • Ability to travel for project requirements, including client-site meetings, training, and project support activities 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software 

  • Exposure to estimating, procurement, scheduling, cost tracking, or subcontractor coordination activities 

Compensation 

The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000-$90,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as geographic location of the position.
