Laboratory Technician (Entry-Level)
Position Summary
We are seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician to support tribology testing in a research laboratory environment. This position is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in laboratory testing—no prior lab experience is required, and training will be provided. You'll work alongside experienced scientists and technicians performing friction, wear, and viscosity testing on fuels, oils, and other petroleum products while learning industry-standard testing procedures.
Responsibilities

Perform friction, wear, and viscosity testing on fuels, oils, and petroleum products using established testing methods and Test Inspection Procedures (TIPs).

Assist in building, disassembling, and preparing small test articles for laboratory testing.

Accurately document testing activities, observations, and results.

Support project leaders and technical staff with laboratory operations and testing activities.

Follow written and verbal instructions while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Learn tribology testing methods through hands-on training and collaboration with experienced team members.

Perform additional laboratory duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Technical certifications or vocational coursework are a plus but not required.

No prior laboratory experience required—comprehensive training provided.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility to work alternate shifts as needed based on client workload.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.

Ability to lift up to 15 lbs independently and up to 50 lbs with assistance.

Occasional driving of a company vehicle or golf cart between work areas.

Must be comfortable working in a laboratory environment while following established safety procedures.
