Position:Administrative Assistant - Grade I
Location:Special Education Office
Schedule:2026-2027 School Year
Twelve Month Position – 35 hrs. per week
Salary: Per Contract
To Start:October 2026
The Special Education Office is looking for a highly skilled, organized, and motivated person to perform office and clerical responsibilities. The successful candidate will have prior administrative/secretarial experience.
Qualifications:
●High school graduate; BA preferred;
●Two or more years of secretarial experience;
●Working knowledge of office procedures and operation of common office equipment;
●Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
●Highly organized and extremely detail oriented;
●Familiarity with special education law
●Maintain confidentiality and discretion in dealing with classified information;
●Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and judgment when working with a variety of constituencies;
●Positive attitude and a willingness to help others;
●Strong problem-solving skills;
●Excellent computer skills (Google, Microsoft, Adobe);
Responsibilities:
●Provide administrative support for special education staffing and assignments
●Process incident and restraint reports through the DESE portal
●Provide administrative support for McKinney-Vento and Foster Care
●Assist in the file coordination of students moving into district
●Manage timeline tracking with service providers and team chairs
●Support in the staffing and enrollment for Extended School Year
●Track special education students exit from school.
●Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Education
